After years of hunting with outfitters who promised big and then did not meet their hype, I have found a great outfitter.   The most amazing thing about my situation and experience with Delta Big Game Outfitting is that Darrell had only two weeks to prepare for my hunt.   From the time he purchased this outfit he was incredibly limited in preparation time.  Yet in spite of that lacking time he put together an outstanding hunt.

I came to Delta with expectations based upon the previous owner’s rhetoric.  When I found out that it was sold only two weeks prior to the hunt I was greatly concerned.  What was concern turned out to be the best thing that could have happened.  Darrell and Alaine were able to run a great camp both at the home camp and in the spike camps.  They were personable, prepared, and persistent in their desire to provide us with a great experience. 
There were 9 of us in camp and 7 of us shot moose.  The moose ranged from 44” to 57”.  Every one of them was a true Canadian Moose trophy.  Not only were there 7 moose harvested but many of us had more than one opportunity.  The game was abundant.  The guides knew the territory, which is some of the best I have ever hunted.  They knew and understood moose.  They also were willing to work.  The food was good and the accommodations were also more than adequate. 

My personal experience was better than any hunt I have been on.  Darrell placed me in the hands of a very qualified guide and then went out of his way to make sure my hunt was excellent.  I harvested a 50 ½ moose that was incredible.  The moose were everywhere.  I cannot believe just how many bulls, and good bulls, were in the area.  I also couldn’t believe how big the area really was.  I shot my moose the first day and then had the privilege of seeing every guy in my camp harvest a moose.  The moose hunting is top shelf.
I then bought a whitetail tag knowing that Darrell only had two weeks to prepare for whitetail.  He was very upfront with me about the fact that the deer situation wasn’t established like he would want it to be if he had more time.  But even with limited time he was able to place a blind in a location that held big buck.  I saw two huge buck on the trail cam and was able to harvest a 159” whitetail that was awesome.  I can’t wait to see the whitetail in that area when Darrell has time to really do appropriate set up. 

I was thrilled with this couple and their operation.  I would suggest Delta Big Game Outfitters to anyone who is looking for a top quality hunt.
