WHITETAIL DEER

Saskatchewan has the second largest herd of Whitetail in North America.  The Saskatchewan Whitetail deer have some of the best genetics growing them strong and producing large body size.  The Whitetail deer in Saskatchewan needs strong genetics to survive predators such as bears, wolves, and coyotes; also the severe Saskatchewan winters.   Saskatchewan deer are known for their very large mass and heavy horns.

The area we hunt has two distinct eco systems.   First eco system is the forest that has meadows, thick willow and large forested areas for deer to hind and flourish.   This area is also hard to get to; only by quad and boat in the early fall.  The second eco system is the forest fringe.  This system will get the best nutrition to the deer feeding on the farm land then going back deep in the forest for cover.   This area is also next to a wildlife preserve allowing big whitetails to hide untouched by hunters.  These areas with their remoteness will offer our hunters the possibility of harvesting large trophy animals.  The area we hunt is 430 square miles of prime Whitetail area.

We encourage our clients to harvest 140-inch antler deer or larger.  We also encourage our clients to use a 30 calibre or larger rifle for the large body deer and thick bush.

Check our info & Pricing page for Canadian Government site for firearm forms and information needed for proper firearm procedures at the US/Canada border as well as our current pricing. A non-refundable deposit is required to hold your hunt.

Saskatchewan law allows outfitters to use food supplements to entice the deer.   We use these supplements to draw in the does that the bucks are looking for during the rut.  This keeps bucks in the area that are hunted by our clients.   We use our does as our bait!

WHITETAIL HUNT

The Whitetail hunts will be five and a half days.

Archery and Muzzleloader – Sept. 1st to December 7th
Rifle – October 1st to December 7th

The hunt starts with you arriving in the afternoon, getting settled in your room and ready for the first morning hunt.  That afternoon starts with a short briefing then a time for questions and answers.   After that it is time to unwind and relax.   The morning starts with a large breakfast, a packed lunch and a 20- 45 min drive in to the forest.  Once there clients will get an ATV ride or a short walk into their stand for the day.

Clients will be checked upon regularly with predetermined times.  This is done to ensure client safety and efficiency of game harvested.  Clients are then picked up after legal shooting time and taken back to camp for a large hot supper and to relax.   The hunts will be out of tree stands and ground blinds and the distance will vary up to 100 yards from food supplements.  Let us know if you cannot handle heights or climbing ladders so we can make arrangements for you.
